To celebrate everything they’ve achieved throughout their Fall season, our teams are participating in community-based 5Ks all across Chicagoland! They will either host a Site-Based 5K in their community (at their school, a nearby park, or other gathering space) or participate in one of three Chicago Area Runners Association Go Run community 5Ks.
Fall Site-Based 5Ks
Support a team as they cross the finish line at their school, nearby park, track, or community center! Volunteer duties may include taking photos, assisting with set-up and clean-up, passing out medals, helping coaches as needed, and cheering on the girls. Events typically last 90 minutes.
Please note that selections are on a first-come, first-served basis. Upon registration, you’ll receive an email with detailed instructions on next steps.
CARA Go Runs
We are thrilled to partner with the Chicago Area Runners Association for three community-based 5K events this fall. CARA Go Runs take place at parks throughout Chicago and are free to all, and GOTR teams will participate in the following events:
- November 5, 8AM - 10:30AM, at Humboldt Park (1339 Luis Munoz Marin Drive)
- November 12, 8AM - 10:30AM, at Jackson Park (1686 E. Hayes Drive)
- November 19, 8AM - 10:30AM, at Horner Park (2741 W. Montrose Ave.)
We are seeking volunteers to assist with aid station activities, distributing medals, helping coaches as needed, and of course, cheering for the girls!
All races start at 9AM, and volunteers must arrive at 8AM for participant check-in and set-up. You will receive a confirmation and day-of details at least 3 days in advance from the GOTR Impact Team.
