Our Events

Girls on the Run-Chicago invites you to attend one or all of our annual special events! Please join us in supporting this life-changing program and make a difference in the life of a young girl.

Girls on the Run 5k

The 5k is the culminating achievement for thousands of girls who have completed our nationally-recognized after-school program. Girls are joined by parents, coaches, friends, and community runners in a fun celebration of health, wellness, and girl power!

Visit our Fall 5k site for full details on the November 15th 5k at Montrose Harbor!

All GOTRC 5k events are open to the public. You do not need to be a girl to participate! All finishers receive "woohoos!" and the admiration of numerous spectators, but runners are not timed nor are awards given. Everyone who crosses the finish line is a winner. Join us!

Sparkle & Shine Gala

The 15th Annual GOTRC Sparkle & Shine Gala will be held on Friday, November 21 at the landmark Drake Hotel in downtown Chicago. Gala guests enjoy wine, beer and cocktails, passed hors d’oeuvres and live music. This special evening also features a live and silent auction offering the best items in sports, fitness, food, travel and adventure. Funds raised at the Annual Gala underwrite program scholarships and support program expansion in some of our most under served communities. You can purchase tickets now by visiting the gala website

GOTRC Associate Board Events

Support Girls on the Run-Chicago! The GOTRC Associate Board hosts a number of fundraising (emphasis on FUN) events throughout the year. Thank you to everyone who joined us on June 17th at Lagunitas TapRoom. What a night! Check back soon for information on upcoming events, or contact Alice to find out how to get involved with the GOTRC Associate Board!

Spring Give for Girls Benefit Dinner

The 5th Annual Spring Give for Girls Dinner took place on April 29, 2014 and was a great success! This intimate evening featured a cocktail reception and 4-course dinner at The Drake Hotel, and an Extraordinary Awards Ceremony. All funds raised at this extra-special event help grow and sustain Girls on the Run programs across Chicagoland.
