Girls on the Run 5k

GOTRC is proud to host the largest girl-centered 5k in the United States! Held twice annually at the conclusion of our fall and spring seasons, the 5k is the culminating achievement for thousands of girls who have completed our nationally-recognized after-school program. Girls are joined by parents, coaches, friends, and community runners in this extraordinary celebration of health, wellness, and girl power!

All 5k events are open to the public. You do not need to be a girl to participate! All finishers receive "woohoos!" and the admiration of numerous spectators, but runners are not timed nor are awards given. Everyone who crosses the finish line is a winner.

Associate Board Spring and Fall Events

The Girls on the Run-Chicago Associate Board hosts two fundraising events each year in spring and fall. Thanks to everyone who joined us at the Diag for March Madness and check back in September for details on our fall event!

Spring Give for Girls Benefit Dinner

This intimate evening features a cocktail reception and 4-course dinner at the historic Drake Hotel, a private screening of key segments from the new GOTRC documentary, Growing up Strong, and an "Extraordinary Awards" ceremony. All funds raised at this extra-special event will help grow and sustain Girls on the Run programs across Chicagoland. Please join us in celebrating this life-changing program, its supporters, and all the girls who enthusiastically participate.

Sparkle & Shine Gala

The GOTRC Sparkle & Shine Gala is held annually in the fall at the landmark Drake Hotel in downtown Chicago. During this special evening, we host more than 500 fitness enthusiasts, supporters and parents of the Girls on the Run-Chicago participants, as well as our local community leaders. The Gala features specialty drinks and hors d’oeuvres along with live music, and our unrivaled silent and live auctions. Funds raised at the Annual Gala underwrite program scholarships and support program expansion in low-income communities.
